What personal information do we collect and why?

Use of the site is anonymous. This means that no scripts are installed that follow the users. The server keeps track of the number of visits, but not where those visits are coming from.

We do not follow users outside of our website either.

When the notification is sent, we store event data for statistical purposes. We can only contact you if the contact field is filled in – otherwise the application is saved as anonymous.

If you fill in the form to notify Legebitra, we will record the information you have filled in, as well as your browser information. We collect this data for statistical purposes and / or future case assistance.

Below each form is a brief description of the information you will submit before clicking the “Submit” button. Notification about the event is possible with or without contact information.

Applications are stored on our server and sent to Legebitra. If you wish to delete your personally identifiable information from the website or from our databases, please contact us. This only applies in the case of non-anonymised data.

Some information is collected and provided to Google for the purpose of spam protection (reCaptcha), both on the contact page and in step 2 of the application (“Update of notification”). Their privacy statement is available here.

We use your personally identifiable information only for the purpose of contacting you (in the case of a non-anonymous application). We use anonymised and aggregated data to collect statistics. The data processed anonymously is used for regular reports published on our website and passed on to regional organizations that collect data on acts of hatred (such as the European Commission, the OSCE, UN …). Other information is provided to third parties or organizations only if you explicitly agree to this (eg in the process of reporting to the police).

How long do we store your data?

We store your data for three years as our business archive, and then anonymize it within one year. The basis for such storage is our legitimate interest, as this is the only way to ensure the traceability of our work.
